Director Deborah Chow Joins The Salmon
We are thrilled to announce that director Deborah Chow has joined our growing creative team.
Deborah Chow is celebrated for her ability to craft compelling, character-driven stories with a striking visual style. Her work spans multiple genres and platforms, making her a natural addition to The Salmon’s diverse portfolio.
Chow's impressive directing credits include episodes from popular series like The Mandalorian, Mr. Robot, Better Call Saul, and American Gods. She also directed the six-episode Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series for Lucasfilm, which earned her five Emmy nominations. She also directed the VMA-winning music video “Black Summer” for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and has dipped her toes into commercial with a few spots for Nissan Rogue.
“We’ve long admired Deborah’s work,” said Adam, co-founder of The Salmon and part of the directing duo Adam & Dave. “From her early short films to her work in that ‘galaxy far, far away,’ she masterfully balances intricate storytelling with striking visuals.”
“Her talent for drawing out authentic performances across various genres is remarkable,” added Dave. “Plus, she managed to have lunch with us at the top of the CN Tower without making fun my fear of heights—though I wouldn’t be surprised if a Jedi mind trick was involved. But if she did it right, I’ll never know.”
Chow is of Chinese-Australian descent, and grew up in Toronto. Her diverse background has significantly influenced her unique directorial style, earning her widespread recognition in both film and television.
